Did you know where Tesla, makers of electric cars and other cool gadgets, got their name?
The founders named their company Tesla to honor Nikola Tesla – engineer, physicist and all-around genius. There’s even a rock band named after him! He was, very simply, a rock star of science!

About Nikola Tesla

While he is best-known for designing the alternating-current (AC) electric system, the electrical system we use across the world today, Nikola Tesla is also famous for the “Tesla coil,” used in radio technology.  He held over 700 patents and claimed to have invented a 60 million volt death ray!
